Materials

Tom mixes his own clay and glazes using materials purchased from a variety of sources. Using various texturing tools he scores the clay slabs, then cuts and builds each piece individually. Normally the electric kilns are used for bisque, then a gas kiln or wood-fire kilns to finish fire his work. He currently uses equipment at the local community college, but in the next few years we will have equipment at home. Below are pictures of some of the equipment he uses.
