Before tea bowls, there were spiky mugs. These were extruded mugs with spikes attached that came out of a school project to find an ancient shape and modernize it. Next came small round tiered designs that eventually morphed into the wall hangings. The last picture is of cut-outs that started appearing in his work early in the process. These also eventually influenced the masks.
